Philippe Starck

1949-

Philippe Starck was born in France and educated in design in Paris. He founded a design firm specializing in inflatable objects in 1968. In 1982, Starck gained popularity when he designed the private apartments of the French Prime Minister.  Starck has been involved in the design of furniture, household and office equipment, clothing and accessories, and has worked on numerous hotels and public spaces.
