Eero Aarnio

Eero Aarnio (1932-) Born in Helsinki, Finland Eero Aarnio is known for his innovative plastic and fiberglass 1960s furniture designs. Aarnio studied at the Institute of Industrial Arts in Helsinki, and started his own office in 1962. In 1963 he presented his Ball Chair, a hollow sphere on a stand, open on one side to allow a person to sit within, creating a quiet, private space within a space.
